The Bridal Diaries – Beauty: Hair & Make-Up Trials In Spain…

In the fourth entry of The Bridal Diaries, Tamara takes us through her hair and make-up trials.

Let’s make-up

I still can’t make up my mind about my hair. I am driving myself insane by constantly changing my decision but at the moment I am going for relaxed waves in a half up-do, a pretty and elegant hair accessory and natural sunkissed make-up. I had my hair trial with hairstylist Maite when I was out in Spain and we managed to try out a few different looks which you can see in the photos. I loved the braid but didn’t feel it was what I really wanted for my wedding day. The second look was much more me, but I think I will go for softer curls on the day.

When it came to the make-up trial I was a little nervous, as I have never had it done professionally before. I don’t really wear a lot of make-up and don’t want to see a stranger staring back at me when I look in the mirror on my wedding day

I love the dewy look, with soft gold highlights on the eyes and a nude lip. I want the focus to be on the skin – clean and glowing. I hate the full coverage foundation look, I like skin to look like skin. Thankfully my make-up artist, Nicola, put me at ease. I showed her a few photos of looks that I liked (see images) and she created a look I loved.

My skin has been one of my biggest sources of wedding worry over the past year. I keep panicking that I will end up with a breakout so I am doing everything I can to make sure my skin is in the best condition. I am on a detox, which means clean eating, so no sugar, high fat, high protein and I am working out with a personal trainer four times a week. I am NOT looking forward to cutting out alcohol two weeks before the wedding, but needs must.

Nicola advised me to start having monthly facials with an Environ skincare specialist in London called Heaven Sent Beauty. I am now using the Environ product line at home, all of which have been chosen to deal with my specific skin concerns. Nicola also recommended having an Intraceuticals Oxygen facial the day before my wedding. Loved by Madonna and Victoria Beckham, this treatment is ideal for anyone going to a special event, as the results are dramatic and instant.

The skin is plumped, lines erased and best of all, the glow lasts for days rather than hours. I have booked in with Pure Skin Spa on the Golden Mile for the Sunday. I will be needing a little TLC after the beach party, let me tell you – the poor therapist may have her work cut out for her!
