Emily and Nathan get Married in a Fairy-tale Villa…
Nathan asked Emily to marry him while they were on a fabulous cruise holiday two years ago. They went to an amazing restaurant on the ship for the formal evening, and he got down on one knee to ask a very surprised Emily to be his wife!
And as a result, today’s article is a gorgeous feature of their breathtakingly beautiful marriage at one of Marbella’s most exquisite destination wedding villas. It truly is one of Sunshine Weddings’ favourite places to organise a couple’s special day. The villa itself is just stunning, and – fused with its enviable frontline beach location, lush green gardens and exquisite aquamarine pool – it really is every bride and groom’s dream. One of the most idyllic properties on the Costa del Sol to exchange wedding vows, and the most fairy-tale start to married life.
Emily had holidayed in Spain many times with her family when she was younger and had great memories of those special times so southern Spain felt like the perfect place to hold their destination wedding. This was further reflected with the table settings; each table being named after a local Costa del Sol town or village.
The couple arrived in Spain on the Friday so that Nathan could have his stag do on the Saturday, and Emily could have her hen do on the Sunday, tying in all the celebrations close together so that their nearest and dearest could travel for the pre-wedding events too. Although Emily and Nathan saw each other the day before the wedding, Nathan stayed somewhere else the eve of the wedding in traditional style. All of which built up beautifully to the anticipation of the day as they had spent some time apart.
Emily and Nathan exchanged gifts just before the wedding ceremony, making for some memorable moments, captured by the very talented Rebecca on camera. Emily stood on one side of a door so she could pass her gift to Nathan, waiting with baited breath while he read his card and opened his present. Nathan got to steal a ‘first touch’ but he didn’t get to peak at his bride’s magnificent dress quite yet…
It was an emotional and moving ceremony, all framed perfectly by the endless blue skies, gentle swaying of the palms and magical mountain backdrop. Emily looked incredible in her bridal gown designed by Dreamcatcher, Essence of Australia. Family and friends were also captivated by the villa’s glorious location, just a stone’s throw from the Mediterranean shoreline, set back from a pristine stretch of beach. And Rebecca’s photography and relaxed nature made for some wonderfully documented moments in the villa and on the sand.
Hydrangeas, peonies and kahila roses adorned the gardens offering a colour pop which contrasted amazingly with the greens, blues and whites of the wedding backdrop. Nuno the guitarist played some beautiful music which further enhanced the wonderful atmosphere.
Guests feasted outside on a delicious wedding breakfast, followed by the speeches and the cutting of the elegantly layered naked wedding cake. Later in the evening, one of the Costa del Sol’s most prolific saxophonists provided some awesome entertainment. Not before Emily and Nathan’s epic first dance to High by The Lighthouse Family… and a thoroughly enjoyable Father and Daughter dance to a mash up of A-ha’s Take On Me (acoustic), The Greatest Showman, The Spice Girls, Grease and Take That!
Later some of the men took to the pool, throwing some interesting shapes and dives into its illuminated water…
Emily and Nathan described their wedding experience as surreal, everything they imagined and more. We couldn’t be happier to hear it and wish this fabulous couple a very long and happy marriage.
