Spanish Themed Wedding In Mijas Spain…
This week’s blog features our lovely bridal couple Carl and Nat. Their wedding story is simply wonderful and their special day in Mijas Spain was an absolute pleasure for the Sunshine Weddings Spain team to have been involved in.
The story began back in October 2013 when the bridal couple contacted Susie who works in our offices in southern Spain. Susie deals with all of our enquiries and has the joy of speaking to bridal couples who are at the beginning their wedding journey helping each couple to find their perfect wedding venue in Spain.
Carl and Nat had decided on Spain as their wedding destination as Carl’s father had recently passed away and his main love was southern Spain in particular Seville and Andalucia.
The couple wanted to find an old fashioned traditional wedding venue in southern Spain so from the list and details Susie had sent them which consisted of a; Hacienda, Villa and Boutique Hotel, they flew over to view their favourite wedding venues in Mijas and Seville.
As soon as they saw the Hacienda they fell in love with the beauty of the old style house, which has been decorated to a high spec yet still keeping its traditional style and theme They were stunned by the countryside and where the house is located; in an intimate setting, providing the wedding party with the privacy to enjoy and relax their wedding day in Spain.
As Carl is part of the swim team for Great Britain and had been working at the Common Wealth Games their wedding date was fixed for August, which arrived sooner than the couple could have imagined.
An enormous amount of thought and consideration went into the planning of this stunning wedding in Spain with beautiful flowers chosen to match the colours of the Great Britain team in red white and blue, and the song chosen for Nat’s entrance “Recudors de la Ahambra” meaning “memories of the Ahambra” ‘(the old palace in Granada) paying respect to Carl’s father’s memory and his love and passion for Spain
Nat and Carl’s wedding in Spain had finally arrived so his 2 trusted ushers set to work and made sure that all the guests, who had been staying at a lovely boutique hotel in Cala de Mijas, were welcomed as they stepped off the 24 seater bus that had transported them to the Hacienda, and showed to their seats.
Nat’s entrance was extremely touching and as guests heard her chosen song played by a true gypsy Spanish guitarist the emotions of the day began to unfold.
Padre Peter lead the touching but very uplifting service and once the couple were truly married in Spain then they joined their guests for fresh sangria, wine and beer to begin their wedding reception to the sounds of their gypsy Spanish guitarist playing flamenco style music.
The wedding guests were offered a fantastic feast and partied the night away enjoying the flow of food, drink and entertainment that Carl and Nat had provided.
Nat and Carl couldn’t have been happier and knew that their wedding had the perfect ingredients for making their wedding in Spain the happiest most memorable and special day of their lives.
