Nerja, the pretty whitewashed fishing village to the East of Malaga, if often overlooked as the perfect ‘wedding location when couples are looking to marry in the South of Spain. But now, due to the combination of our new wedding villa in the hilltop town of Frigliana combined with the introduction of our very own Nerja wedding specialist Sheila, we have hosted some of the best weddings of 2015 there – such as that of bridal couple Ashley and Ross, and their Scottish villa wedding in Nerja.
When we first met Ashley and Ross they were staying in Fuengirola and looking for the perfect villa on the Costa del Sol that would suit their pretty and romantic wedding visions. They wanted a traditional Catholic Church service followed by celebrations in a villa where the whole family could congregate and were free to party until the early hours.
We showed them some of our favourite coastal wedding villas in Andalucia, but when they set their eyes on our Nerja Villa in the pretty hill top village of Frigliana they knew we had found their dream venue for their Scottish villa wedding in Nerja. The villa is just five minutes from Nerja town where we found them the perfect traditional Spanish Catholic church in which they could marry, and also just five minutes from the centre of Frigliana village. It had everything they wanted, and more.
‘Ashley and Scott were a great couple to work with, and we had so much fun planning their wedding. They wanted a simple day with style, a chance for their friends and family to gather in one place and a wedding to remember – that would also double up as an unforgettable holiday for those that had travelled from Scotland.
Our Nerja villa is a truly beautiful place in which to get married. Surrounded by mountainous countryside with views of Nerja and the sea below, this finca style villa offers a fantastic arched area for celebrations around the pool and a cobbled terrace with spectacular vistas. As guests were driven down the palm tree lined entrance to the Nerja wedding villa we could see their eyes light up and we knew we were in for a great time.
