Spanish Wedding Venue Inspired Themes…

Stunning wedding venue in Spain.

After an exciting meeting with one of my brides, I thought this would be a good opportunity to talk about the ideas we discussed for her Spanish themed wedding.

After flying over and visiting a number of venues in Andalucía from coastal Malaga to Marbella, and then inland to Mijas and its surrounding areas, my bridal couple decided on a typical Spanish village with the wedding to be set in the grounds of a beautiful and very rustic Hacienda – the starting point for their theme. The wedding will take place outside in the gardens offering breathtaking mountain views, where guests can dine long into the evening taking in the sunset and beautiful landscape. Once night falls candles and fairy lights will transform the Hacienda, creating a soft romantic glow to the party.

We discussed the entertainment and food, and agreed that a typical Flamenco dancer would bring her Spanish wedding theme to life, with the idea of offering guests typical Spanish tapas and sangria at the reception. The meal should complement the theme, and the idea would be to incorporate traditional Spanish dishes into the menu, which was to be decided during her next visit, where a tasting menu would be provided.

So don’t panic if you are stuck for ideas, your wedding theme and story will begin to take form from the moment you have chosen your location and venue You can build on your choice of flowers, lighting, entertainment, food, drinks and table decor from thereon.

Although you have chosen to get married in Spain it doesn’t limit you to theme options as the most wonderful feature is the weather and the fact that your wedding will be outdoors. You can adapt your theme depending on your venue for example; a beach wedding is more relaxed and casual, a Hacienda more rustic, a hotel that has both inside and outside areas could be either casual or formal, which you can dress with colour schemes and decorations to suit your personality and tastes.

My tip for the week is to use your venue as your inspiration. This should be the platform for your theme and you can start to build layers around it to bring your ideas to life.
