A dreamy Mallorcan wedding | Destination wedding Spain

Back

In the heart of the magical island of Mallorca, sits a charming rustic finca which made the perfect backdrop for Rachel and Ricky’s wedding last July. With its captivating vistas of the Bay of Palma and tranquil countryside, this wedding venue has become a sought-after destination for couples seeking a timeless backdrop for their nuptials.

Dating back to the 17th century, the Finca underwent a meticulous restoration in 2006-2007. This process seamlessly fused its traditional charm with contemporary elegance, resulting in adaptable spaces that cater to both indoor and outdoor events, making it an ideal venue for weddings on this exotic Spanish island.

Today we take a look back at the beautiful memories created at this very finca on the 10th July, the day Rachel and Ricky said “I do.”

The wedding day buzzed with excitement as the final touches were made; flowers were delivered, hair and makeup perfected, and Rachel looked radiant in her gown. Ricky and his groomsmen waited eagerly, while 60 guests who had flown to the island for this special occasion gathered on the lower lawn for a welcome drink, and the excitement grew as everyone was ushered to the ceremony area.

A Simple Ceremony Brimming with Rustic Elegance

The ceremony took place beneath a simple wooden frame adorned with white drapes, emphasising the rustic beauty of the surroundings. Pew ends on every aisle chair featured dusky pink roses, olive branches, and gypsophila tied with trailing white ribbons, which gave an elegant touch to the outdoor décor that included chiavari white ceremony chairs.

To the tune of Lady Gaga’s “Remember Us This Way,” Rachel, escorted by her father, gracefully made her way down the aisle. There, under the rustic ceremony frame, in the embrace of the sun’s warm rays and enveloped by their closest loved ones, Rachel and Ricky exchanged their marriage vows in an intimate ceremony officiated by Minister Annie.

The signing of the marriage vows was underscored by the soothing melodies of “River Flows in You” by Yiruma and Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” marked the wedding recessional as minister Annie invited all the guests to follow the newlyweds to the drinks reception.

Cocktail Hour in the Clastra

In the clastra, a central courtyard featuring paved pathways, guests savoured an hour of relaxed socialising, accompanied by the melodies of a talented musical trio. There, a diverse selection of appetisers, ranging from cannelloni to Galician beef tartare, was served and beverages, including cava, white sangria, wines, and beers, were abundant. The hour of easy mingling also made for the perfect moment to capture cherished family photos against the picturesque backdrop of the Finca’s gardens.

The Wedding Breakfast in a Tranquil Oasis

Dinner was enjoyed al fresco on the upper lawn, where guests relaxed in comfortable wooden Toscana chairs. The evening began with a glass of cava, followed by heartfelt speeches before the buffet service commenced. Fosh, a Michelin-starred catering company, delighted the palate with Mediterranean cuisine, tailored to accommodate various dietary needs.

As the golden hour bathed the landscape in a warm glow, more romantic photos of the newlyweds were captured. Meanwhile, guests were treated to a dessert buffet and a charming lemonade stand held jars of treats for the children; sugar levels replenished and Mel from Mallorca nannies arrived to care for the little ones—as the not-so-little-ones geared up to dance the night away.

Wedding Party Extravaganza with Fun Activities and Dancefloor Delights

The party kicked into high gear as a fun photobooth was set up, and guests enjoyed a continuous flow of mojitos, mango daiquiris, and strawberry caipiroskas from the four-hour open bar. Meanwhile, DJ Fran, accompanied by Jay’s saxophone melodies, did an excellent job of keeping the dance floor alive with great music. The night reached its pinnacle with the cake cutting and the couple’s first dance, accompanied by sparklers and lighters, creating a memorable and enchanting moment.

At midnight, DJ Fran transitioned the festivities indoors where late-night snacks like pulled pork tacos and vegan baked potatoes kept everyone’s energy levels soaring as they danced into the early hours of the morning.

As the celebrations came to a close, the memories of Rachel and Ricky’s special day linger on thanks to the enchanting finca and their fairytale wedding in the sunshine.

A heartfelt thank you to Rachel and Ricky for entrusting us with your special day. We wish you all the luck, love, health, and happiness in the world. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the incredibly talented photographer, Billie, for capturing these wonderful moments.
