Rustic Wedding Mallorca: Francesca and Jack’s Idyllic Island ‘I do’…
Nestled deep in the magical and lush green Mallorcan countryside, yet, conveniently just a stone’s throw away from the cosmopolitan resort of the Balearic island’s capital, Palma, today’s featured venue couldn’t be a more perfect feast for every one of the senses. It’s also a secluded, stylish and romantic setting for a marriage.
Francesca and Jack fell head over heels in love with this destination wedding venue, upon visiting with the Sunshine Weddings team, and it was a pure joy for us to help them arrange the details of their celebration at the pretty property last summer.
The Finca is the epitome of rustic fairy-tale luxury; a unique and special backdrop for a bridal couple to exchange their vows in the presence of the family and friends. It also ticks many boxes when it comes to holding a medium to large sized wedding.
The beautiful ceremony was held on the vast lawns of the Finca’s exceptionally gorgeous grounds. Imagine tying the knot surrounded by an oasis of verdant palms swaying gently in the breeze, olive groves, lemons trees and quaint farmland framing the tableau for as far as the eye can see; a charming Balearic windmill turning its sails in the background… and you have the essence of a wedding at this fabulous Finca on a sunny summer’s day. Add a Bohemian petal strewn lawn and one of the most picturesque floral arches we have ever seen; add a stunning bride in her breathtaking gown – not to forget the dapper groom! – and you have a picture that will live long in the memory for every guest.
Talking of pictures, this idyllic location has some truly unbeatable and intimate spots for the all-important wedding day album. After the wonderful ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawn, while photographer Aimee whisked the newlyweds away for some sublime shots in the grounds of the Finca.
The Finca is a former farmhouse, and, whilst it does boast a small number of rooms for the use of the main bridal party, the beauty of this venue’s location is that both Palma Nova and Palma, the capital, are close by, giving the rest of the guests an abundance of accommodation options and plenty of sightseeing and entertainment, all practically on the door-step. It’s also a lovely opportunity for the couple, and their nearest and dearest, to extend the event to a mini-holiday. As practical and convenient as it is pretty and charming, Mallorca‘s airport is also just a short car journey away, making the Finca super accessible for all.
The delicious wedding breakfast was served on another of the venue’s lush green lawns, and, in a break with tradition, Francesca and Jack opted for a scrumptious dessert table instead of having a wedding cake. The mini cupcakes, cheese board with chutney, fresh fruit, and a selection of cookies and brownies, all went down a treat – particularly since they were followed up with some delicious Espresso and Porn Star Martinis!
As the magical Mallorcan evening light show began – with fairy light, and the twinkle of the stars shining down from above – a lively saxophonist kicked off the party in style with a catchy song to get everyone on the dance floor. After an hour of sensational sax, the musical baton was handed on to a local DJ, who did a great job of keeping 96 adults and 8 children entertained until the small hours; the special gin glasses circulating (for the grown-ups only, of course!) also doing their thing.
What an amazing day!
We wish the happy couple a long and healthy marriage in the years ahead, and we extend a BIG thank you to the wonderful Aimee K for the beautiful imagery featured in this blog.
