Majestic Wedding Venue in Malaga: Perfect for a Fairy-tale Celebration…

We have fallen head over heels with the sumptuously divine El Molino, and we are beyond thrilled to share this brand new to Sunshine Weddings dream venue today.

El Molino is a serenely beautiful country house located in the sun-kissed countryside of Manilva, a hidden gem on the Costa del Sol which is situated midway between Gibraltar and Marbella; Manilva is best known for its stunning mountain backdrop, exquisite sea views, ancient Roman healing waters, and hillside vineyards producing sweet Muscatel dessert wine.

Wedding guests in the glorious grounds of El Molino

El Molino (the mill) has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and offers bridal couples a quite unique setting for their ceremony and celebrations, thanks to its three acres of sumptuous gardens and charming courtyard areas. Here you will find sheer paradise among the lush green mature trees, the beautiful patios and fountains, and the luxurious aquamarine pool; a wonderful haven to relax in before and after the special day. There’s plenty of space for everyone.

The fabulous pool in the grounds of the venue

The most magical tableau for any wedding photographer to work with, capturing golden moments on camera to treasure for years to come.

But El Molino is more than just a stunning setting; it also boasts some seriously stylish accommodation in its main house, where it has four bedrooms, a bar, a library, a TV room… and some absolutely epic views of the flora and fauna in the tropical gardens. The separate guesthouse, also nestled in the grounds, offers up a further two bedrooms; all of which allows up to twelve members of the bridal party to stay on-site, enjoying the fantastic facilities. And with no immediate neighbours, there are no noise restrictions, meaning family and friends of the bride and groom can party away carefree into the wee small hours!

Guests enjoying a unique dining experience at El Molino

Meanwhile, Manilva, the nearby Puerto de la Duquesa and Sotogrande, have a wide range of attractive accommodation options for family and friends; a fantastic array of restaurants and chiringuito beach bars, plentiful beaches, and some of the very best golf courses in the world.

In terms of the wedding ceremony, El Molino can accommodate up to 500 guests, making it the ideal location choice for a larger-scale event. If you are looking for a glorious private destination wedding venue with wow factor to boot, El Molino truly is hard to beat. Refreshingly, it is also a venue which doesn’t tie couples into working with a designated caterer.

El Molino is also an ancestral family home whose vision and design is steeped in love; clear to see from the fetching attention to detail which abounds both inside and outside the property.

El Molino's magical pool area by night

Built at the turn of the 18th century, the mill was a fully functioning flour mill until the 1960’s, having belonged to the Larios family, ancestors of the property’s current owner Marina Fernández de Cordoba. In fact, there is so much history linked to El Molino, for Marina’s uncle, Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe, was the man behind the vision that turned Marbella into a quintessential hub for Europe’s aristocracy, not to mention the jet set: the legendary Marbella Club Hotel.

A celebration at El Molino really does make you feel as if you – and your special guests – are adding to the fabric of the glorious building’s colourful history.

Manilva, and El Molino, are conveniently located just 25 minutes from Gibraltar airport – which has frequent services between the UK’s major cities – and Malaga airport, the latter just under an hour from the venue.

We look forward to organising some memorable weddings at the venue, as well as to working closely with Marina.
