At Sunshine Weddings Spain, we specialise in finding you exclusive wedding venues that will make your big day truly unforgettable. Which is why we are so excited to announce a brand-new wedding venue on the outskirts of Malaga. Oozing rustic charm and Spanish elegance, this stand-alone venue dates back to the mid-1800’s and is the ideal location for a sophisticated destination wedding in the south of Spain.
The history of the hacienda has always been linked to the world of art. It was once the home of Do?a Emilia Rebollo de Fort, an artist born in Malaga in 1841, who devoted herself to painting and tapestry. Her work has been exhibited all over the country and some of her work can be seen inside the old manor house. The stately home has since been converted into a much sought-after space for celebrations and weddings. The old Spanish hacienda is set is acres of luscious gardens, the manor house offers three intimate dining spaces as well as a large function hall, original kitchens and an impressive wine cellar, ensuring it maintains its 19th century old-world charm.
We spoke to Sunshine Weddings Spain founder Scott Gibbons, about the new Malaga hacienda: “This is a really spectacular wedding venue,” he said. “I’m so pleased we can now offer it to our bridal couples. At Sunshine Weddings Spain we are always on the look-out for the most captivating, beautiful and memorable wedding backdrops in the south of Spain. We pride ourselves on being venue experts and offering the finest locations the Costa has to offer, and this new hacienda is up there with the very best.”
The large stately manor house is set in mature, leafy gardens and complimented by beautiful patios, fountains, a greenhouse, Arabic-inspired ponds, a bamboo forest and even a natural waterfall. Each splendid corner of this magical wedding venue offers a new and varied backdrop for your wedding celebrations. You and your guests can take full advantage of the beautiful setting and grounds, adapting each space to serve your specific needs on the day.
The ceremony can take place inside the tiny chapel or outside in a number of settings – from one of the grand patios or beneath the towering palms and lush gardens. The wedding breakfast can be served outside where there is capacity for up to 600 seated guests. Overlooking the Malaga hills, and protected by the dappled shade of dozens of lush trees, it’s a stunning location for sunset dining. Alternatively, there is also a heated and air-conditioned glass pavilion providing an indoor space, with the feel of being outdoors.
The hacienda is proud of its in-house caterers who specialise in mouth-watering local dishes with a modern twist. Their extensive wine list showcases lots of local vineyards, with some of the best organic wine producers found nearby. Their tapas and canapes are also works of art – the perfect luxury dining to enjoy at this grand hacienda. Although this splendid manor house doesn’t offer on-site accommodation, there are plenty of hotels and apartments to rent nearby. There are also a number of sumptuous rooms where the wedding party can get ready inside the main building. The entertaining rooms inside also include a large function space that doubles up as the perfect ‘disco’ room for the grand finale – the after party. This also includes an adjacent courtyard which can be used as part of the party space for guests to enjoy the summer night air and chill out with a cocktail or two as guests party into the early hours.
Complete with outdoor decorative lighting, air conditioning throughout, parking for up to 500 cars and just twenty minutes from Malaga’s international airport, it’s the perfect location for destination
