The Ceremony – a Traditional Church Setting

Leanne and Matthew’s wedding day began at a Gothic-style church in Palma’s old quarter. The 13th-century church, a Mallorcan landmark with a massive sandstone façade, intricate portals, and a central rose window, served as the gathering point for the wedding guests. Excitement buzzed through the air as everyone moved inside the classic building for the ceremony.

Inside, historical elements like Gothic choir seats from the 15th century and a Baroque main altarpiece from 1739 added to the day’s charm. Other remarkable interior elements included the cloister, an architectural gem hailing from the Gothic era, adorned with pointed and lobe arches supported by slender columns and a beautifully crafted polychrome wood coffered ceiling.

Amid this captivating setting, the guests took their places in the pews before the altar, eagerly anticipating the arrival of the bride.

I Do – Heartfelt Vows Surrounded by Loved Ones

The ceremony began with the church organ playing Pachelbel’s “Canon in D Major.” Leanne, in an elegant a-line lace bridal gown, walked down the central aisle with her father to join the groom at the altar. There, under the guidance of Father Andrew Falow, they exchanged heartfelt vows in a traditional ceremony.

As vows and rings were exchanged, the ceremony concluded with the music of George Frederic Händel’s “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.” The newlyweds then exited the grand church and were greeted by their guests in a lovely outdoor area surrounded by orange and lemon trees. Rose petals were tossed in celebration and in this sun-filled space, photos that perfectly captured the happy moments of the newlyweds with their wedding party, were taken.

The Banquet – A Historic Castle with Views

The wedding party then moved to a 17th-century castle renowned for its impressive sea views. Chandra Maestre, a local professional singer, and a pianist provided music during the drinks reception where guests enjoyed cava, wines, sangria, beer, and a variety of canapés while taking in the stunning views of Palma Bay.

Following the 90-minute cocktail hour, guests gathered in the castle’s central courtyard for a grand dinner. The setup featured elegant round tables and rustic wooden chairs, complemented by festive lights and classical music, setting a warm atmosphere for the evening feast to begin.

The dinner began with a fresh cod fillet with salsa verde and Iberian ham, followed by the main course: a lamb duo with tableh, glazed carrots, rosemary juice, and potato purée. Then, after a brief pause for the all-important speeches, dessert arrived—a Mango and passion fruit cheesecake with strawberry sorbet, accompanied by coffee to complete the meal.

A Toast to Remember – A dance of a lifetime

After dinner, guests were invited to a champagne tower, where the backdrop of the spectacular bay of Palma made the moment truly magical and set the tone for the party to begin.

The celebration continued on the castle’s main terrace, where a spacious dance floor had been set up. There, Clyde, a skilled saxophone player, along with a DJ from the UK, kept the music going late into the night.
