A meticulously restored 17th-century Mallorcan manor house, with its original architectural features intact, set the stage for Rohanne and Shaun’s perfect wedding day…
Join us as we reflect on one of our favourite summer weddings celebrated in Mallorca this season.
Guests arrived and were welcomed by the groomsmen who led them to a refreshment area offering beer, cava, or water, whilst Spanish guitarist Gaizka provided background music for the guests as they mingled.
As final touches were made to the ceremony and seating area, precious moments, like the emotional first look between the bride and her father, were captured. After many months of preparation, it was finally time for the ceremony to commence.
In the warm late afternoon sun, the couple exchanged vows in a touching ceremony officiated by Toni Pons, a local Mallorcan actor renowned for conducting distinctive and heartfelt weddings. The bridal couple were joined by 60 guests, with a notable portion making a special trip from Scotland to be part of the celebration. Many of the male guests, including the handsome groom, added a touch of the homeland by donning smart tartan kilts.
After the emotive and happy ceremony in the sunshine, the recessional was accompanied by the iconic song “Here Comes the Sun” by Boyce Avenue, while guests showered the newlyweds with natural rose petals.
The reception continued on the outdoor terrace, where guests were serenaded by Gaizka’s upbeat Flamenco music. Cava, beer, wines, and soft drinks flowed, complemented by a delightful selection of canapés, from marinated olives to octopus with smoked paprika.
This moment allowed guests to mingle, while the newlyweds took family photos. A wooden table with a guest book and a small table for remembering loved ones were also set up on the terrace.
As the evening turned to night, the call for dinner marked the next phase of the celebration. A lavish wedding feast was prepared by Michelin-starred British chef Marc Fosh, featuring delectable dishes such as black pork ravioli and braised beef paired with local red wine.
The party atmosphere was set with the couple’s first dance to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé, followed by a touching father-daughter dance. Then, the dance floor opened, with DJ Edmin and saxophonist Jay providing hours of music and entertainment.
The night was made even more special with the presence of Mallorca Nannies to keep the little ones entertained and for the adults, an open bar with three signature cocktails added to the fun.
Late-night snacks of mini hamburgers with cheese and, of course, the wedding cake kept the energy high as the celebration continued into the early hours of the morning, and as the clock neared 3 am, private transport was arranged to ensure the safe return of all guests to their respective accommodations.
The newlyweds chose to spend an extra week on the sunny island of Mallorca, where they were able to enjoy their honeymoon and extend the magic of their wedding day.
Our thanks to Rohanne and Shaun for letting us help arrange their big day. We wish you many future years of happiness ahead. And our thanks to the wonderfully talented Sofia for the incredible images as well as to all of our suppliers for their continued hard work and professionalism.
