The centrepiece of the venue is the enchanting ‘Era,’ a historic wheat-threshing floor that serves as a symbolic ceremonial circle, surrounded by ancient Roman columns and offers panoramic views of the sea. Meanwhile, the venue’s charming 4-bedroom villa, provides a luxurious haven for the bridal couple and their nearest and dearest to use on the run up to the big day. Refreshing Welcome Drinks at the Venue Entrance
As the sun reached its peak in the mid-afternoon sky, wedding guests gathered at the main welcome area—a stone gateway marking the venue’s entrance. There, they were treated to a selection of refreshing beverages including Sangria, beers, and soft drinks. Background music, at the hands of the esteemed wedding performer David Cale, guitarist originally from Wales, set a relaxed tone as guests mingled and enjoyed the panoramic mountain views. Laughter and chatter filled the air, creating a buzz of excitement. This laid-back gathering provided guests a chance to unwind and mingle before the formal proceedings, setting the tone for the enjoyable and sociable atmosphere that would carry through the rest of the celebration.
The Ceremony Area – A Stunning Wedding Setting
Guests were directed to a striking semicircular open-air theatre nestled into the mountainside—the venue’s own amphitheatre. There, providing relief from the lingering summer heat, handheld parasols and ivory fans were provided. The ceremony space itself was adorned with large urns filled with lush greenery, white roses, and faux hydrangeas that added an organic touch to the setting, and it was in this space that attendees witnessed a truly enchanting wedding ceremony take place.
With welcome music playing, Gracie and Tim exchanged vows against the rugged mountain backdrop. Led by local wedding minister Jeff, the ceremony was a balance of humour and heartfelt moments. After their exit to the tune of “Electricity” by Dua Lipa and Silk City, they joined their guests for a celebratory drink.
The cocktail hour – At a Stone Gateway
Following the heartfelt exchange of vows and rings, the newlyweds and their guests gathered once again by the stone gateway near the venue entrance. This shaded area, nestled under a sprawling plant-covered pergola, provided a welcoming retreat for standing and seating. While the couple posed for photos with Salvador from Evergreen Malaga, a renowned destination wedding photographer, guests were served a delectable array of hot and cold canapes. Canapes which included mini beef steak on garlic croute with hollandaise sauce or salsa verde, pork brochettes with a whole grain mustard and orange glaze, tangy Thai prawn skewers with sweet chilli dipping sauce, tostaditas with blackened sea bream, peach relish, and sour cream, prawn ceviche spoon with avocado, red onion, lime juice, and chilli, and crostini with smoked aubergine caviar and toasted pine nuts.
The Wedding Breakfast – An Alfresco Feast on the Open-Air Terrace
Following the cocktail hour, guests were invited to be seated in the venue’s expansive open-air terrace, which can accommodate up to 150 guests and offers breathtaking views of the sea and mountains. Attendees were treated to a sumptuous feast, beginning with starters of seared tuna tataki with wakame salad and sticky soy drizzle or harissa yoghourt-marinated chicken served on flatbread with cucumber, mint, rocket, and red onion salad. For the main course, options included pan-fried fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes, a red wine jus, and green beans, or sea bass with duchess potatoes and clam and white wine sauce. The meal concluded on a sweet note with a trio of desserts: chocolate truffle cake, mojito fruit salad, and mini white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. As a special treat during the wedding breakfast, guests were serenaded by the smooth sounds of live jazz music performed by Georgie Morris.
Party Time – In an Enclosed Late-Night Dance Lounge
After the meal, guests were invited to linger outside, where minimalist lighting created an intimate ambiance for the evening ahead. They gathered to witness the newlyweds’ first dance, set to the song “This is Real” by Ella Henderson, accompanied by a soulful saxophone. Following this heartfelt moment, the DJ and saxophone duo took the stage, ensuring a lively atmosphere with their catchy playlist.
As midnight drew near, guests were invited indoors to an enclosed late-night dance lounge. There, they enjoyed a final set of tunes, savouring the last moments of an unforgettable fairy tale wedding celebration. With music, love and laughter filling the air, the night concluded on a high note, leaving unforgettable memories of a beautiful wedding in the sunshine.
