A Sacred Union at Marbella’s Historic Catholic Church

On the 7th of July 2023, under the sun-kissed sky of Marbella, Laura and John embarked on a journey towards forever.

The bride and groom chose a Catholic church near the Orange Square in Marbella Old Town for their wedding vows, there the historic structure’s basilica plan and intricate architectural elements provided a beautiful and traditional backdrop for their ceremony.

Within the sanctuary’s walls, the angelic soprano voice of local singer, Alba, together with the soothing melodies of the string quartet, Quike Quartet, intertwined, creating an atmosphere of serenity and harmony.

Laura’s lace-clad elegance perfectly complemented John’s dapper tuxedo, and in this sacred space they exchanged vows sealing their love in a time-honoured tradition.

As the ceremony came to an end, guests gathered at a nearby bar in Orange Square for a refreshing drink, toasting Laura and John’s love and and set the vibe for the festivties still to come.

Enchanting Finca – Nature’s Beauty Meets Romantic Celebration

The wedding day then continued at a nearby Finca, a charming location that combined natural beauty with the romantic atmosphere of the event. Spanning 14,000 square meters of gardens and offering captivating sea views, it provided the ideal setting for Laura and John’s story to unfold.

Within the Finca’s inviting pergola, the drinks reception welcomed guests with Cava, wine, and soft drinks, complemented by delicious canapés. The Quike Quartet’s enchanting melodies added to the ambiance as guests mingled.

Culinary Delights – An Elegant Dinner Amidst Natural Beauty

As the sun began its descent, the lower garden level of the Finca hosted an elegant dinner. Iberian sirloin medallions and sea bass fillets were delicately presented, capturing the essence of Mediterranean flavours.

The meal was followed by heartfelt speeches and the symbolic cake cutting of a two-tier vanilla cake, a masterpiece created with vanilla buttercream and raspberry jam.

Dancing Under the Stars – Moonlit Celebration

As the sun set, the couple’s first dance became a timeless moment. Accompanied by Demian’s soulful saxophone notes, Laura and John took their first steps as a married couple, moving to the harmonious melody of Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars.”

The celebration then continued under the moonlit sky where an eclectic blend of music by the bridal couple’s own DJ friend, together with the funky tunes of Demian on sax and Alex on bongos, set the dance floor ablaze.

All the while photographer Rebecca Davidson skillfully captured candid moments and pre-sunset photos, immortalising the magic of the day.

As the clock approached the early hours, late-night snacks re-energized the dancers who kept grooving until 3 am, marking the end of a magical night and day for everyone.

A Journey That Continues – The Next Day’s Intimate Gathering

The festivities didn’t end there; the next day saw an intimate gathering at Besaya Beach, where paella and chilled drinks set the tone for a relaxed afternoon. With the waves as their backdrop, Laura and John continued their journey, surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.
