Welcome –  on the grounds of this hidden gem nestled in the southern Spanish countryside.

To the classic elegance of a string trio sounding in the background, Grainne and Des’ guests gathered near the entrance of this idyllic venue for a refreshing welcome drink of lemonade infused water, a moment which encouraged chatter within the group and the excitement of the day grew.

The welcome drink was enjoyed and it was time for the guests to be seated and the magic to commence.

The ceremony – in a beautiful setting which uniquely fuses Andalucian and colonial styles.

As the late afternoon sun’s rays kissed the traditional Andalusian country estate and warmed the guests with a balmy autumnal glow, the emotive nuptials got underway, led by Minister Gareth, in a space under an elegant gazebo which boasts the most incredible views of the campo.

The wedding ceremony was very emotional and beautiful and witnessed by some 90 guests who had flown out especially for the occasion.

Serenaded once more by the classical sounds of the string trio, the guests enjoyed a ample array of hot and cold canapes including skewers of marinated sardines, pistachio macarons with goat paté, crunchy prawns with red curry and sweet chili as well as marinated chicken brochettes with yakitori to name but a few.

A moment which provided the newlyweds an occasion to mingle with their guests, as well an opportunity to sneak away for some photographs within the stunning grounds of the corijo at the hands of their amazing photographer, Racheal from Balance Photography.

A chilled cocktail hour which served as the perfect prelude for the beautiful dinner that would come later.

The meal started with friends and family of the bride and groom making their speeches provoking very funny and emotional moments and lead perfectly into a relaxed multi-course meal that started with a delicious serving of chestnut and mushroom cream with glazed goat cannelloni, followed by Iberian Sirloin or a vegetarian option and finished with a heavenly white chocolate and passion fruit hemisphere.

As night fell, the Cortijo was transformed into something quite ethereal as strings twinkly lights illuminated the outside spaces beneath the natural canopy of the moon and the stars.

A fabulous music set by popular Costa del Sol music band, Monkey Tennis, followed by a catchy playlist at the hands of DJ Fuller added perfectly to the atmosphere allowing everybody to dance the balmy Indian summer’s night away.
