Imagine saying “I do” in a picturesque open-roofed church, surrounded by the island’s breathtaking beauty. In today’s bridal story we invite you to join us on a journey to one of the world’s most romantic destinations, where Amy and Michael’s wedding day unfolded against the backdrop of Mallorca‘s charm, starting under the unique allure of an open-roofed church.

The Open-Roofed Church Ceremony—An Enchanted Beginning

The ceremony area was truly captivating, set within a Gothic-style building with classic heavy windows and rose windows. However, the real wow-factor was, without doubt, the open sky above, adding a celestial enchantment to the scene.

As guests arrived, a refreshing welcome drink of lemonade and flavoured water awaited them, complemented by the soothing melodies of the Soriana trio.

While the Soriana trio graced the event with their enchanting rendition of Pachelbel’s Canon In D Major, fans were thoughtfully handed out by the bridesmaids to combat the balmy summer heat. Moments later, the atmosphere of opulence reached new heights as Amy and her father made a grand entrance in a luxurious Mercedes S Class, setting the tone for a magnificent day.

The emotive ceremony, led by Father Andrew, took place in the church’s single nave adorned with religious artwork and Rococo influences and where the First Hymn, “Ave Maria,” and the Second Hymn, “The Lord of the Dance,” were beautifully performed by the Soriana trio.

During the ceremony, as “Stand by Me” was performed once more by the Soriana string players, the couple signed their commitment to each other. The conclusion of the ceremony was marked by the exit song, “One Day Like This” by Elbow, signalling the transition to the festive celebration.

All the while, the talented local wedding photographer, Billie, beautifully captured the special day, preserving the cherished moments of the couple at the church.

The Cocktail Hour—A Serene Oasis on a Spacious Terrace

Guests were then transported by private transfer to a nearby private villa, nestled amid 900,000 square metres of natural beauty. The stage for the cocktail hour was set on a spacious terrace adjacent to the main building, an elegant setting where guests indulged in a selection of beverages, featuring cava, wines, beers, sangria, and soft drinks, all complemented by a delightful assortment of cold and hot canapés. In this open and elegant setting, guests relaxed and enjoyed the moment while a live band provided soothing music.

The Wedding Feast—Alfresco Dining on a Lush Green Grass Terrace

As the evening sun began to set, dinner was announced on a lush green grass terrace, offering breathtaking panoramic views all the way to Cala Millor’s coast.

Amidst clinking glasses of cava, the couple received a warm introduction from their Best Man, Joe Campbell, who set the tone with Oasis playing in the background. Heartfelt speeches followed, as the Bride’s father, Tom, and Groom Michael shared witty anecdotes and heartfelt sentiments.

Starters featured an array of tapas to share, including homemade meatballs, patatas bravas, mini chorizos, and prawns “a la Ajillo.” Meanwhile, Billie captured sunset photos and the gentle melodies of a saxophone filled the air, serenading the moment.

For the main course, guests savoured braised beef with potato mousseline and Port sauce, and boneless suckling pig with local apricots and Iberian ham. Dessert was a delightful choice between mini tartelette with seasonal fruit and almond crumble or cheesecake with dukkah spices.

Party Time—A Romantic Poolside Affair

A magic mirror photo booth added an element of fun as guests continued to revel in the festivities by the pool area which offered a romantic setting with Balinese beds and rattan lounge chairs, perfect for unwinding with friends.

The open bar kept spirits high as DJ Angel took over, spinning tunes for three sets, accompanied by a saxophone and bongos duo. Late-night snacks in the form of chicken pasties and mini hamburgers with cheese kept everyone energised as the party continued into the night.
