Once you’ve chosen the destination wedding venue of your dreams, and you have a good idea of your celebration’s theme; once most of the bigger decisions surrounding your marriage have been made, there’s a whole lot of fun and creativity just waiting to be tapped into when it comes to styling the location of your destination wedding!
Today’s feature is packed full of inspirational styling ideas to help brides and grooms who are planning the finer details of their special day. Whether you have your heart set on a large and lavish affair or a small and intimate ceremony, many of these styling options work beautifully in either setting. Mix and match, go minimal, or take fairy-tale décor to the extreme.
From confetti cones to love letters, themed tables to LED dance floors…
Fortunately, here in southern Spain, we have a plentiful array of wedding providers, meaning most styling options can be easily catered for. Take a look at some of the sensational tableaus our team have lovingly planned into the celebrations for some of our recent villa-style weddings on the Costa del Sol, and let your imagination carry you away:
Illuminated words and lanterns transform gardens to stunning effect, especially as dusk falls and the sky’s hue changes, all of which makes for some glorious photography. Less can be more for smaller venues, whilst the many and contrasting outdoor areas of larger venues can be woven together with a quite beautiful effect through the creative display of this kind of lighting.
This rustic wooden frame idea (below), complete with its white table printouts and floral hearts, is a simple yet wonderfully effective way to let your bridal party know where they will be sitting for the wedding breakfast. Positioning your props in picturesque nooks in the grounds of your Spanish wedding venue also inadvertently offers guests the perfect opportunity to mingle and enjoy a glass of champagne whilst soaking up the atmosphere, so it’s worth giving the layout some thought – which is where the Costa del Sol’s expert stylists and florists really do come into their own!
We also love this bohemian-style wooden pallet idea. The use of natural materials, foliage and ribbon fuses together effortlessly to maximum effect. Another fantastic way to let friends and family know who they will be sitting next to for the next few hours…
The simplicity of Hayley and Laurie’s theme works so well, following through again to the gorgeously rustic table settings in the image below.
Sometimes, not all of our loved-ones can be there on the wedding day – maybe they are unable to travel, and maybe they are sadly no longer with us. A wonderful way to honour them, so they are still with us in spirit at the ceremony, is the inclusion of a beautiful table area designated for their pictures and our personal and much treasured memories, and perhaps a piece of uplifting poetry to accompany them.
Of course no wedding would be complete without flora and there are almost as many ideas for bouquet styles as there are flowers. These fairy-tale bridal posies are a pastel delight, the delicate hues offering the perfect colour-theme for decor and styling, as well as some gorgeous snapshots.
As night falls, LED dance floors paired with garlands of fairy lights decorating wedding marquees and exterior furnishings, make for a perfect hygge-like evening setting. Their ethereal glow really does invite even the most reluctant of family and friends to party into the small hours, all only further enhanced by the breath-taking pinprick twinkle of the stars (and often Jupiter!) which can be seen so clearly in this part of the world thanks to less light pollution.
Dusk is also the perfect time to highlight a spectacular panoramic sea view; the one below taking on an almost red carpet feel with lanterns and fairy lights creating an enchanting entree to the seating area and its captivating vista.
And of course this is just the start. There are many, many more ideas besides. In fact, as clichéd as it may seem, Pinterest is a fantastic starting point for any bridal couple in the early stages of brainstorming their wedding theme.
The key to it all really is FUN!
Have fun creating a vision board, and have even more fun watching those ideas become reality and living the dream…
