Bridal Perfection for your wedding day in Mallorca…

Perfecting the various aspects of wedding makeup for a destination wedding is almost an art in itself, due to logistics, the language and, of course, the Spanish heat! Sunshine Weddings Spain prides itself on working with the very best and most well-established experts in this area of the bridal industry, and today we are delighted to be chatting with the wonderful Patrycja Czarnecka, professional wedding makeup artist based in Mallorca.

Patrycja has been transforming brides for their special days for a number of years, and today we find out a bit more about the person behind the makeup brushes.

My name is Patrycja Czarnecka, I am a makeup artist and I was born in Poland. I have always dreamed of living in a place surrounded by palm trees and a beautiful sea, where the days are longer, the sun shines almost all year round and people have a more cheerful attitude to life.

I also owe my decision to come and live on Mallorca to several of my friends who already lived on the island.

I also considered Tenerife because I also have friends there, but Mallorca resonates with me and is a more beautiful and international island where the season lasts almost all year round 🙂

Have you always been interested in makeup?

I have been interested in makeup since I was a child, I also have a passion for sewing and I love drawing too. But before I realised that makeup was going to mark my professional path,  I worked as a dentist, a taxi driver and a car and furniture salesperson.

When I gave birth to my son, I also opened a children’s boutique where I employed photographers. We organised belly photo sessions, post natal shoots.

Tired moms after giving birth didn’t feel comfortable or “glowing” in the photos so that’s how my makeup talent was born again 🙂 so professionally I’ve been a makeup specialist for eight years.

Where did you train?

I attended the best makeup school in Poland “Pro Academy school of makeup” and over the years I trained individually with many outstanding makeup artists.

Now I give training and makeup lessons myself.

How did you get started doing bridal makeup?

Wedding makeup is an inseparable part of the life of many makeup artists. I love being that “little” part on the most important day of the brides’ lives.

What’s the best thing about working with brides?

It is very important in life to do what you love and surround yourself with positive and good people.

There is always a wonderful atmosphere when working at a wedding, a lot of joy and love and beautiful emotions – it always moves me very much and I meet wonderful people from many parts of the world.

I am grateful that they trust me.

Top 3 tips for brides to keep in mind or do in the month before the wedding?

Remember that the wedding is for them, and they are supposed to be the most important person on that day.

To take a good mood with them and leave the stress and fear somewhere far behind.

Don’t sunbathe too much or overeat either!

And three tips for the bride on her wedding day? (Makeup related or not)

Lots of sleep and hydration before.

We don’t do any invasive Botox treatments on the day and I alway suggest that they don’t sunbathe just before the wedding because the face will shine – no product will hide it.

Today you are the queen and that’s how you should continue each day.

What are your favourite products?

This is a very difficult question. I have a whole lot of them and I can’t imagine myself without makeup: ISL foundations, Charlotte Tilbury and Chanel, Poudre Chanel Universelle libre, Mac Mineralize Light Plus. And eyelashes “clavier” & Ardelle, Charlotte blush and highlighter “Hourglass”. Becca eye powder.

Hidden talent?

Sometimes I’ll meet a lady on the street or in a store, for example at the checkout, and I see and know that the makeup metamorphosis will be very spectacular with her – this kind of vision creation could probably be called a talent.

What’s at the top of your wish list?

I have a plan in my head and I know from experience that success likes silence, so I will only say that my intentions are to expand business and cooperation here in Mallorca, because it’s the place I want to stay.
