Today, we’re excited to look back on a lovely wedding held last September at a luxurious and historic finca in Marbella which owns that WOW factor sought after by so many bridal couples during their venue search.

Nestled amidst historic ruins, just a short 35-minute drive from Malaga Airport, lies a hidden gem – a secret garden steeped in 200 years of history and charm. Surrounded by tropical palms, lush vegetation, and serene water features, stands an exquisite finca, renowned as one of Marbella’s premier wedding venues.

Last September, this picturesque setting served as the backdrop for a truly memorable celebration. Join us today as we reminisce about Laura and Jason’s special day, enveloped by the tranquillity of ancient palm trees, thriving avocado plantations and vibrant exotic fruit trees.

Poolside Welcome – Greetings and Mingling

With the backdrop of the lilac Andalucian mountains, guests arrived at the impressive finca where Groomsmen, Baz, Phil, and Greg, welcomed them to the spacious terrace adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool. Refreshing drinks awaited, accompanied by the soothing tunes of pianist Johnny, created a relaxed atmosphere, allowing guests to mingle and look forward to the day ahead.

Ceremony – An Enchanting Setting

Against the backdrop of a by-gone foundry, creating an enchanting setting , the ceremony took place. Led by Costa del Sol-based officiant Jeff, Laura and Jason were united in matrimony in a heartwarming ceremony. Laura looked radiant in an elegant lace top A-line bridal dress with a tasteful slit, while Jason appeared dashing in a navy blue suit. The picturesque gardens, capable of comfortably hosting 400 friends and family, offered an intimate yet spacious setting for this September wedding. As guests entered, they were greeted by the piano instrumental of “The Vow” by RuthAnne, while the exit was accompanied by the lively tune of “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars, skillfully played by Johnny.

Cocktail Hour – Among Picturesque Gardens

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a lively cocktail hour amid the picturesque gardens, ancient palm trees, and lush tropical plants. The mood was set by uplifting piano music as guests savoured a variety of hot and cold canapés, including torched goat cheese tart with crispy serrano ham and crab apple jelly, gingered chicken cakes with mango and coriander mayonnaise, and smoked salmon, asparagus, and horseradish wraps. Meanwhile, the newlyweds were briefly taken away by photographer Issy, who captured timeless memories against the finca’s romantic backdrops and snapped some fun family photos.

Feast – Under a Centenary Walnut Tree

The wedding meal took place in a central garden area beneath a majestic one-hundred-year-old walnut tree. Guests enjoyed a selection of Spanish favourites, from pan-fried fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes to roast fillet of sea bream with roasted baby potatoes and chorizo. Dessert offerings included chocolate truffle cake, mojito fruit salad, and white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. The relaxed atmosphere, shaded by the ancient tree, provided the perfect setting for the wedding breakfast, complemented by an entertaining magic show by magician Magic Al.

Dusk and party – Sunset Photos and First Dance

As dusk descended, the pond area near the main house transformed into a magical setting illuminated by twinkling lights. Laura and Jason stole away for some romantic pre-sunset photos. Meanwhile, DJ Lady Jade and Joe on Sax provided dynamic musical entertainment, captivating guests as they gathered for the first dance. The dance floor near the water features came alive as the party kicked off, with the romantic song Snow Patrol’s “Just Say Yes” setting the tone for the evening. DJ Lady Jade and Joe treated guests to five full hours of music, including two hours of saxophone and one hour of percussion, accompanied by tower lighting and robo lights for added ambiance. Later in the evening, violinist Quike joined forces with the DJ to keep the celebration going into the early hours.

Post party – Beach Club Chill-Out

The celebrations continued with a casual pizza gathering the following day at a beach club, where all 150 guests enjoyed winding down after a weekend of festivities under the sunny skies.

Looking back on this bohemian late summer wedding in Marbella, it was marked by its simple yet beautiful style, resulting in a laid-back family celebration in the Spanish sunshine. As Laura and Jason begin this new chapter together, we thank them for choosing us to be a part of their special day and wish them a lifetime of love, health, and happiness.
