Last May, Neely and Johnny chose to host their destination wedding in a beautiful Marbella wedding venue…

Whilst Spain boasts a long wedding season due to its wonderful climate, weddings booked in the off-peak months of April, May and June benefit from pleasant temperatures and increasingly long and light-filled days with the perfect lighting to create stunning cinematic images that feel both romantic and natural.

Today it’s a pleasure to reflect back on this lovely wedding held at a luxury and historic finca in Marbella which owns that WOW factor so many bridal couples seek when venue hunting.

This fascinating and historic place is a beautiful and natural paradise that extends to an incredible 10,000 square metres full of landscaped areas, rich in tropical flowers and hidden corners in which to build your dream wedding day.

Each landscaped area can be used throughout the day creating a flow of different settings in which to WOW your guests time and time again and it was on the grounds of this hidden gem, well located to Marbella City Center, that Neely and Johnny’s magical day commenced.

On arrival to the grounds of this stunning finca, the guests were guided to the large terrace by the finca’s outdoor swimming pool and cooled off with chilled cava, beers and soft drinks. The bubble of excitement grew as the time neared for the ceremony to commence and the wedding party were invited to take their seats in an open space in front of the enchanting remains of the by-gone foundry that still stands in the middle of the finca.

Instrumental music floated over the grounds as the ceremony, led by Minister Jeff, got underway and Neely, looking the picture of elegance wearing a stunning ball gown wedding dress, was joined in matrimony to her handsome beau who looked dashing in his classic black and white tux.

The emotive ceremony was witnessed by over 100 friends and family who had flown out especially for the occasion and held in the spacious gardens that can accommodate up to 400 seated guests if needed.

After the ceremony the guests were served drinks back by the pool-side terrace where a sophisticated DJ and jazz duo set floated over the grounds and created the perfect vibe for a chilled cocktail hour that saw a selection of delicious hot and cold canapes passed around and enjoyed by all.

As the guests continued to enjoy a relaxed moment mingling in the landscaped areas the newlyweds were whisked away by their photographer, the fabulous team at The Love Hunters, who use the endless romantic backdrops sprinkled all over the finca to capture the most magical forever keepsakes.

The wedding meal, which featured a selection of favourite Spanish dishes, an array of vegetarian options and some spicy Indian nibbles was enjoyed in a central garden area with water features that was magically transformed into a twinkling romantic wonderland as dusk settled and fairy lights sparkled into life.

This bohemian spring wedding in Marbella, low key and simple but beautifully styled, made for the perfect rustic family celebration in the sunshine.
