The Ceremony – Marbella’s Historic Catholic Church

On the 14th of August 2023, beneath Marbella‘s sun-kissed sky, Amanda and Thomas celebrated their special day against the captivating backdrop of Marbella’s charm, surrounded by friends and family.

The couple selected a Catholic church near Marbella Old Town’s Orange Square for their vows. The church’s historic basilica layout and intricate architecture served as a breathtakingly traditional backdrop for their ceremony.

Inside the sanctuary, the angelic voice of local singer Lucy Faye, a classically trained vocalist and esteemed wedding singer, set a serene atmosphere. Amanda’s lace-adorned mermaid gown perfectly matched Thomas’ stylish beige tuxedo as they exchanged vows in this sacred space, upholding timeless traditions.

As the ceremony concluded, guests congregated at a nearby bar in Orange Square for refreshing drinks of Sangria, water, and lemonade, toasting the couple’s love and setting the tone for the festivities ahead. Captured by the talented Costa del Sol wedding photographer Rebecca Davidson, family moments were snapped before a private coach transported guests to a nearby exclusive event venue to continue the celebrations.

A Magnificent Private Event Venue

The festivities continued at a nearby private event venue boasting breathtaking sea and mountain vistas. Tucked just minutes from the city’s center, the venue radiated a secluded charm within a rustic estate.

Under the high afternoon sun, guests gathered at the venue’s stone gateway for Sangria, beers, and soft drinks. Ambient guitar melodies by local guitarist Nano accompanied their mingling, surrounded by sweeping 360-degree mountain views, creating an atmosphere filled with chatter and laughter.

As the newlyweds posed for photos, once again at the hands of the talented Rebecca Davidson, guests indulged in a range of delectable hot and cold canapés, including mini beef steak on a garlic croute with hollandaise sauce, shredded chicken tikka on mini poppadoms, tiny parmesan and rosemary shortbreads, and gingered chicken cakes with mango and coriander mayonnaise.

The Wedding Breakfast – an Alfresco Extravaganza

The main course unfolded on a grand open-air terrace accommodating 150 guests, offering stunning sea and mountain panoramas. Guests savoured in an Italian rustic potato salad for starters, followed by flavorful mains of mustard, rosemary, and lemon chicken breasts or fillets of sea bream with chive butter. This interlude also allowed for some romantic pre-sunset photos captured by Rebecca.

Near the dinner location, a Champagne tower complemented the trio of desserts—chocolate truffle cake, mojito fruit salad, and white chocolate & Eton mess—and sweetly concluding the alfresco feast.

Party Time – Flamenco Show

The festivities escalated to a whole new level as the celebration unfolded in the venue’s own amphitheater. Guests enjoyed cocktails before heading to the lower section for an engaging 30-minute Flamenco show.

The celebrations continued with live music courtesy of the Jackie Brown Band, delivering two funky 40-minute sets. DJ Fuller then took charge, ensuring an unforgettable night with his infectious playlist. As midnight approached, guests were ushered indoors to an enclosed late-night dance lounge and enjoyed some final tunes before concluding an unforgettable fairy-tale wedding.

A heartfelt thank you to the lovely couple, Amanda and Thomas, for entrusting us with your magical day and to Rebecca for these incredible images.
