Sunshine, sea, Marbella – synonymous with glamour, excitement, and an ideal spot for a good time. And if that means a wedding, even better. In this alluring setting, Orla and Francis began their journey as a married couple. Today, we reminisce about their special day in the heart of Andalucía with views to the dazzling Mediterranean Sea.

With 120 wedding guests, a lovely Spanish finca provided the backdrop for a memorable day brimming with glamour, excitement, and the anticipation of unforgettable moments.

Preparations and Welcome

As the wedding day unfolded, a palpable buzz of excitement filled the air. Every last detail was meticulously attended to, from the fragrant floral bouquets to the groomsmen’s opulent transportation seeing the groomsmen make a stylish entrance in a sleek Mercedes Sprinter Limo Land Jet, where they were promptly presented with five chilled Heineken beers. The luxurious Mercedes Land Jet service then chauffeured the rest of the closest friends and family to the wedding venue, where they were greeted warmly by the groomsmen and invited to enjoy a refreshing welcome drink.

The Ceremony: A Dreamy Mid-Afternoon Affair

Set amidst the lush grounds of this popular Marbella wedding venue, the ceremony unfolded beneath two towering Palm trees. In this enchanting setting with a picturesque view of the distant sea, guests were adeptly ushered to their seats by the groomsmen, marking the beginning of the unforgettable ceremony.

Zoe Louise, a Marbella-based singer, graced the occasion with her melodic voice, performing Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” as the beautiful bride made her entrance and joined the dashing groom by the ceremony table. This table, adorned with gypsophila and mauve limonium, served as a simple yet elegant backdrop for Orla and Francis’s heartfelt vows in a ceremony led by Minister Helen.

During the ceremony, Zoe Louise serenaded the guests with her rendition of “Dreams” by The Cranberries, and as the touching ceremony came to a close, Zoe Louise set the stage for further celebration with a performance of “You Make My Dreams Come True” by Hall & Oates, prompting all the guests to follow the newlyweds to the drinks reception, where the festivities continued.

Drinks Reception in the Most Romantic Garden

Under the shelter of a shaded area on the left side of the tropical garden, guests drank in the  picturesque sunset, soaking in its golden warmth. As the late afternoon rolled on, a variety of drink options were served, including Cava, wines, beers, sangria, and soft drinks. Meanwhile, Zoe Louise’s melodious voice continued to captivate the guests as they enjoyed a moment of easy chatter and some delicious cold and hot canapés, featuring Iberian hams, cheeses, Iberian barbecue skewers, and vegetable tempura.

The relaxed moment provided an ideal setting for the talented photographer, Gary Tapp, to expertly capture family photos, with the lush garden serving as a picturesque backdrop.

The Wedding Breakfast and Evening Celebrations

The wedding breakfast unfolded in an indoor location, a covered lounge with a capacity for approximately 450 guests. Natural light enhanced the beauty of the interior decoration, making it a truly magical setting. The first call for dinner was marked by a toast with Cava and heartfelt speeches, setting the stage for a mouthwatering BBQ buffet.

Guests indulged in the “Make Your Own Salad” option and a variety of meat choices, including chicken churrasco, homemade sausages, beef entrecote, and a veggie option. Various garnishes and sauces, along with an array of potato dishes, were also made available and dessert was a delightful nougat of red fruits and frozen yoghurt.

As the night continued, the newlyweds were whisked away for romantic sunset pictures on the beach and the party shifted back outside where the Jackie Brown Band took over with two lively music sets, ramping up the party with a fun and energetic vibe that got everyone dancing and enjoying the night.

At midnight everyone transitioned back indoors where a LED white dance floor beckoned, and the party carried on into the early hours fueled by late-night snacks that included jam and cheese brioches and Spanish omelette dices.

Transfer services ensured that guests made their way safely back to their accommodations, ending a day that was nothing short of wonderful.

A huge thank you to the lovely bridal couple for trusting in us with the planning of their magical day and of course to Gary Tapp for the use of these incredible images.

It was a true pleasure organising Orla and Francis’s big day. On behalf of the Sunshine team, we wish you both well as you embark on this next chapter of life.
